Making A Difference

It is not often that an alumni association ventures to hold a Technical conference. Possibly, MASTECH 2008 could be the biggest event of such a scale and magnitude that has ever been organized solely by the former students of a University. When one considers that the Department  of Ship Technology in the Cochin University of Science and Technology, is fairly young(34 years since conception, makes it virtually a baby in the world of academics) and has produced just over 705 Naval Architects to date, the task undertaken by its Middle East Alumni was, to put it mildly, a bit ambitious and indeed a huge challenge!

This souvenir is brought out to celebrate the event, provide a forum for the advertisers and sponsors of MASTECH and to showcase the profile and growth of the Ship Technology Alumni that has lustrously embedded itself in the firmament of UAE's Maritime Industry. In keeping with MASTECH's proclaimed goal of spreading technological awareness in our chosen field of work, a number of topical articles contributed by experts in the industry have been included.We hope that the contents reflect our purpose and the readerswould find the pages that follow, informative as well as interesting.
