Event Convener

The idea to conduct an international maritime conference by MAST(Middle East Alumni of Ship Technology) was under discussion among our members for the last 2 years. There were quite lot of debates over the subjects as MAST was to organize such an event for the first time in UAE and its acceptability by the UAE maritime community.But the driving force was our 150 strong highly motivated and hard working naval architect members working  in various positions in UAE marine industry. With MASTECH 2008, presence of our Alumni in the Middle East is now well known and has become a part of the UAE maritime sector. IT is remarkable and a great honor for all of us to complete 25 years of existence of our ALumni in United Arab Emirates. As an alumni our main aims are to enhance technical capability of our members support to UAE maritime sector and charity works.

We are indeed proud to host MASTECH 2008, the international maritime conference in Dubai with its focus on innovative trends in ship design, shipbuilding, and offshore technology. We had a stream of 24 high profile speakers on interesting subjects during the 2 day conference. The conference has providedan unrivalled environment to exchange information, showcase the latest technical innovations, explore collaborations, identify business opportunities and take stock of trends and issues at the heart of future strategies. Tha award night along with the conference was to recognize individuals and establishment for their techno maritime achievements and was a great success.

I offer my deep appreciation to members of MAST without whose dedication and efforts we would not have succeeded as an organisation and I wish all the best to  all of them.
